This is one cool demo of a bass that may have blood stains, but surely can nail all sorts of musical genres, while still having an edge and looking utterly brutal. Evil looks are not just for metal it appears!
First you get a complete rundown of the feature set on this axe. Then a dedicated Low B test, which is always important on a 5-string, and in this case there is nothing but solid tone. No floppyness on the B!
Then follows a test of the pickups together and with neck and bridge in isolation on a classic funk-type groove. Finally a bit of slapping.
While these styles may not be what you’d expect from a bass that was born for metal, there are simply no rules in that game. A great bass is a great bass – and this one will nail just about anything you throw at it. You know, just like the classic Precision bass did/does the job for both James Jamerson and Steve Harris!
